Week 5Objective: Students will understand that success comes from following God’s Word and will be challenged to not only memorize God’s Word, but implement it in their lives.
Key Thought: The goal of Bible memorization is implementation! Lesson Summary: In Psalm 119:11, the psalmist recognizes the connection between hiding (memorizing) God’s Word in his heart and mind, and his ability to resist sin’s lure in his daily life. While we would all agree in principle with the psalmist about the importance of Scripture memory, most of us would admit that implementing it in our daily lives is a struggle. The goal of this week’s lesson was to help your student begin implementing a Scripture memory plan that will assist in equipping them to live a victorious Christian life (Joshua 1:8). Your student was encouraged to not just memorize Scripture, but to also implement what he or she has memorized. Thanks to modern technology, beginning a Scripture memory plan could be as simple as downloading an app on your cell phone. Each of them provide creative ways to learn and memorize God’s Word. The user can also customize which verses he or she wants to memorize. Here are four apps we suggested to your student during the lesson: Quizlet (Free App) Scripture Memory Fellowship App (Free App) Bible Memory: Remember Me ($2.99) Bible Memory: Scripture Typer (Free App) If you do not already have a Scripture memory plan in place for yourself, this is a great time to begin one alongside your student. Work on memorizing God’s Word together! Parent Challenge: Join your child in memorizing a weekly verse and talk about how to implement it. God bless. |
