Week 27Objective: Students will be in awe of Christ as they learn that He is coming back in His glory to execute judgment on an unbelieving world.
Key Thought: All will be in awe. Lesson Summary: In our study tonight, we considered what would happen at Jesus’ future second coming to the earth following the seven years known as the Great Tribulation. It will be an unprecedented time when will all be in awe of Jesus! The sad truth is that many who are alive and will witness Jesus’ return will remain condemned due to their refusal to acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior by accepting His free gift of salvation. The awesome news is that the Gospel provides the way of escape for all who will believe! The students were challenged to consider their own spiritual condition and the importance of making the most important decision of their lives; where they will spend eternity. There is no better time than right now to examine your own spiritual condition. If you’re not sure where you will spend eternity, please call one of the youth leaders today! This week, students were also challenged to use the calendar on their smart phone to remind themselves daily, with an alert, to pray for a specific person they could introduce to Jesus. For students without smart phones, we gave them a card on which to write the name of a friend. We asked them to place that card in a prominent place in their room to remind them to pray for that person. We also gave them a sample prayer to help them pray for their friend: Dear God, (name of friend) needs to be introduced to Jesus. Please give me the opportunity and boldness this week to talk to (name of friend) about Jesus. Amen. Make it your mission this week to pray for your student as he or she prays for that friend and continuously looks for God-given opportunities to talk with that friend about Jesus. Then make sure to follow up with them to see if they were given the opportunity to share Jesus with that specific friend Parent Challenge: We live in difficult and uncertain times. It is important that students understands God's promises about such times. Talk with your child about God's promise to never leave us nor forsake us. Also, consider listening to the podcast "It's Worth Considering." It follows the student Quiet Time devotional. It’s Worth Considering: A podcast that follows the Quiet-Time devotional (Wk 26).
