Week 28Objective: Students will embrace the reality of the eternal age and live with an excited anticipation of what God has in store.
Key Thought: God has a place for you. Lesson Summary: As we wrapped up our four-week study on Future Events, we explored what eternity will look like in Heaven. Heaven is a place beyond our wildest imaginations! Your student learned that Heaven is comprised of only one city, the New Jerusalem, with one street 1,300 miles long! They learned that Heaven is perfect, far different than the dystopian culture reflected in popular fiction. In Heaven there is no more crying, pain, fear, or sorrow (Revelation 21:3-4). There is no devil (Revelation 20:10), and there is no darkness (Revelation 22:5) because Jesus is there (Revelation 21:23). Heaven is a place devoid of time constraints, where those who know Jesus will enjoy His presence and each other’s company forever! Of course, while we are still on this earth, we all live within time and space limitations. One day, our time here on earth will run out and we will die. The time to decide where you will spend eternity is now, because no one is promised a next breath! Are you confident of your own eternal destiny? What about your student? Where will he or she spend eternity? Consider having a conversation about eternity with your student this week. Are you looking forward to an eternity with Jesus? Is there someone you love who needs to hear the Gospel? Parent Challenge: We live in difficult and uncertain times. However, this is for certain. time will one day be no more and yet we will. Assurance of eternity is a great comfort. It also helps direct our day-to-day lives to know we have purpose in regards to eternity.Talk with your child about God's promise to one day return and establish his kingdom. Also, consider listening to the podcast "It's Worth Considering." It follows the student Quiet Time devotional. It’s Worth Considering: A podcast that follows the Quiet-Time devotional (Wk 26).
